It’s been an exciting week for all involved with the Cycle Friendly Employer initiative here at Cycling Solutions Ireland, as we accredited renowned engineering consultancy group DBFL with a hugely impressive European Gold Standard for cycle-friendliness at their Dublin headquarters.
Aidan Tighe of DBFL welcomed the news: “DBFL are delighted to become a Cycle Friendly Employer with our head office on Ormond Quay, Dublin obtaining the European Gold Standard Accreditation at the first attempt. Whilst our staff have been working from home these past few months, we have been busy improving our facilities in readiness for their return to the office and to further encourage the use of sustainable travel modes on their commute and for local business travel. This includes the installation of new and upgraded bicycle parking which, in addition to the new cycling infrastructure on the City streets, we hope will encourage even more of our staff to join the large number of active cyclists we have! Sustainability is a cornerstone of DBFL’s Growth Plan and as a Smarter Travel workplace we are delighted to demonstrate our commitment to active travel through our engagement in programmes such as the CFE.

DBFL are no strangers to sustainable transport mobility, having worked on several projects throughout Dublin that encourage movement, usability and accessibility for people of all ages in conjunction with Public Realm improvements. One such example being the first phase of the Stillorgan Village Area Movement Framework Plan, seen below.
